2035 Long Range Transportation Plan

The LRTP is a federally-mandated, long-term planning document detailing the transportation improvements and policies to be implemented in the MPO’s planning area.  The plan complies with the Statewide and Metropolitan Transportation Planning regulations issued by the US Department of Transportation.

The effective approval date for both the 2035 LRTP and the Conformity Determination Report was May 3, 2010.

2009-2015 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) Amendment
An amendment to MUMPO's TIP is necessary to move the following projects into FY 2011 of the TIP:

• R-2248E, construction of I-485 from NC 115 to I-85
• R-2123CE, construction of the I-485/I-85 interchange
Both projects are currently shown in the TIP to begin construction in 2015.

Final Metrolina Air Quality Conformity Determination Report (CDR) for the:
2035 LRTP and 2009-2015 TIP Amendment
The purpose of this report is to comply with the provisions of the Clean Air Act Amendments of 1990 and the Safe Accountable Flexible Efficient Transportation Equity Act – Legacy for Users (SAFETEA-LU). It demonstrates that the financially constrained long-range transportation plan and the transportation improvement program (TIP) eliminates or reduces violation of the national ambient air quality standards (NAAQS) in the Metrolina area and conforms to the State Implementation Plan (SIP).
